Station sales and behind the scenes unpaid interns wanted!! *

Have you ever wanted to see what life is like in the broadcast radio industry? Would you like to work an unpaid internship to gain experience at a small, independently owned radio station where you can actually work in the day to day business of radio broadcasting? This is your opportunity to work with the station sales and buisness departments MOSTLY. Occassionally you will work with the programming and production departments but the bulk of your unpaid internship will revolve around the following duties:

* Gathering leads for our sales department -- finding business's appropriate to our station's listening audience to advertise for customers
* Helping write sample and actual commercials to run for potential and current advertisers on AM 1340
* Assisting the AM 1340 sales force in daily duties revolving around their work of calling on new and repeat advertisers. This could include helping gather information for sales proposals, setting up and working station events at client locations and station events throughout the city.
* Helping the station's business and sales manager in day to day duties, daily paperwork, collections of revenue and other tasks instrumental in the daily operation of AM 1340.
* Attend all AM 1340 business meetings and select appointments as arranged by station management.

Qualified candidates should have:

* A desire to work at least 20 hours a week recognizing this is an unpaid internship
* Understand that daily duties can vary greatly and have an understanding your duties are in the business end of AM 1340 operations
* Access to reliable transportation, you may be asked to run errands from time to time for station events and buisness transactions
* Proof of Valid Drivers License and Social Security card required for all internships
